It seems that the relations between the Dallas Cowboys and pass rushing linebacker Micah Parsons has deteriorated almost entirely.

Dallas’ inability to reach an extension with Parsons has reportedly reached a point where the four-time Pro Bowler is on the verge of requesting a trade.

“NEWS: The relationship between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures, which could include a trade request, sources tell (Dianna Russini of The Athletic),” The Athletic reported this morning.

If the Cowboys do come to the point where they have to trade Micah Parsons or risk losing him in free agency, it seems likely that Dallas will do the former.

So which teams should do everything in their power to bring Parsons into the fold?

Here are three teams that we think could be the route to go:

Buffalo Bills

The Bills already know what their identity is on offense, but their defense took a step back in 2024 and their Super Bowl dreams once again fell short in the process.

The key to finally overcoming Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs might be to do what the Buccaneers and Eagles have done in the Super Bowl: Plant Mahomes in the ground, early and often. Perhaps no player has a better chance of doing that to Mahomes all by himself than Parsons, who has never had less than 12 sacks in a season.

By contrast, the Bills have not had a player record 12 sacks in a year since 2016.

If there was ever a time to go all-in on a defensive player, now would be the time.

New England Patriots

No team in the NFL has more cap space than the Patriots right now, so no team is better positioned to give Parsons all the money he wants than them.

After back-to-back last-place finishes in the AFC East and now on their longest playoff drought in over 30 years, the Patriots have a lot of needs as they rebuild under head coach Mike Vrabel. As a former linebacker in his own right, Vrabel might see Parsons as the exact kind of player who can set the tone for his defense, giving ascending star Drake Maye some more room for error as he keeps developing.

The challenge would be finding something that the Patriots can afford to lose and that the Cowboys might find worth having…

Philadelphia Eagles

It seems more likely that Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell would become best friends than the Dallas Cowboys would ever give Parsons to their hated rivals and the reigning Super Bowl champions.

But if there was ever a man who with a proven track record of making impossible moves happen, it’s Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. After years and years of fleecing the league out of top players to build his team into a powerhouse that not even the Kansas City Chiefs can overcome, a player like Micah Parsons could ensure that the dynasty he’s building lasts for another decade or so.

Roseman has tons of players he can swap and assets to move. If Jerry Jones and Roseman can swallow their pride, they can make an historic deal happen.
