4-2 – Eovaldi lifts Rangers with complete game shutout over Reds

The Texas Rangers scored once while the Cincinnati Reds did not score a run.

I was about 500 words deep in some stuff about the bats getting out of the gates worryingly slow, but who cares? Nathan Eovaldi is awesome and tonight he put together a masterpiece of a Maddux as the Rangers made a first inning Wyatt Langford home run stand up to even this series.

Give our World Series hero a standing ovation.

Player of the Game: Eovaldi is very good and tonight he was pretty great as in 99 pitches, Evo tossed a scintillating complete game shutout on just four hits, no walks, and eight strikeouts one night after this same lineup scored 14 runs against Texas.

Up Next: The Rangers and Reds close out this series with a rubber match in the wee early hours with RHP Jack Leiter looking to put together another good start for Texas opposite RHP Hunter Greene for Cincy.

The Wednesday morning first pitch from Great American Ball Park is set for 11:40 am and you can catch it on the Rangers Sports Network.
