Business is back as usual on the set of 9-1-1 after the show bid farewell to Peter Krause’s Captain Bobby Nash.
Several cast members of the hit ABC procedural shared behind-the-scenes snaps from filming on Tuesday, April 22. Oliver Stark, who plays firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley, documented his day via his Instagram Story, which began with an early morning workout walk with his dogs before heading to set.
In one of his posts, Stark, 33, filmed himself in a trailer getting his hair done ahead of the day’s shoot at 5:55 a.m. Two hours later, he captured Aisha Hinds, a.k.a. Henrietta “Hen” Wilson, walking over to his trailer to chat. The two costars walked together to the set of the 118 fire station, which was packed with crew members, at 7:45 a.m.
In another Instagram Story video, Stark hilariously zoomed the camera into costar Anirudh Pisharody’s face, joking that the actor, who plays Ravi Panikkar, was “sad he wasn’t seen.”
The cast of 9-1-1 are just as devastated about that major character’s death as fans are. The second half of the ABC series’ two-part 9-1-1: Contagion event on Thursday, April 17, ended with the shocking death of the 118’s leader, Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause). While trapped in a lab with a dangerous virus, Bobby […]
Hinds, 49, shared a BTS clip of her own via her Instagram Story, sharing a clip of costar Ryan Guzman, a.k.a. Eddie Diaz, relaxing in a makeup chair while getting a neck massage. She set the clip to the Busta Rhymes track “Break Ya Neck.”
Hinds’ Instagram Story post teases Eddie’s possible return to the 118 after Bobby’s death, as the latter half of this season saw the character leave his firefighter job to move back to Texas and reconnect with his son, Christopher (Gavin McHugh). The teaser for the show’s upcoming episode confirms that Eddie will at least travel back to Los Angeles to attend Bobby’s funeral.

In addition to the snaps, footage has circulated on social media of Angela Bassett back on set as Sergeant Athena Grant. The actress has been spotted filming in her character’s police uniform, hinting that Athena will return to work following her husband Bobby’s tragic demise.
9-1-1 shocked fans by killing off the show’s beloved fire captain during the show’s Thursday, April 17, episode. After the 118 crew were rescued from a lab containing a dangerous virus, Bobby stayed behind after revealing he had secretly contracted the disease after giving the only antidote to Chimney (Kenneth Choi). Bobby shared a tearful goodbye with Athena before succumbing to the illness.
Peter Krause said goodbye to 9-1-1 with his character Bobby Nash’s shocking death, but fans of the long-running series still have questions about what went down — and what is coming next. The second half of the ABC series’ epic two-part “Contagion” event, which aired on Thursday, April 17, saw Chimney (Kenneth Choi) continuing to […]
Krause, 59, penned an emotional letter to fans following his surprising exit. “I will miss my partner, Angela Bassett. Her strength and her sweetness, and us holding hands. We parted ways too soon. Much love,” he wrote in the letter, published by Deadline on Thursday. “Tim Minear and Brad Buecker, you’ve been my pillars and are two of the best in the business. I will miss you both.”

He concluded, “Finally, I will miss my beloved and unruly children of the 118. Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Oliver Stark, Ryan Guzman and Anirudh Pisharody: this is a tough goodbye. Stay unruly, but be professional and get the job done. Misfit heroes need each other. That’s how we do it at our firehouse. Pass it along to the next new guy. This has been one wild adventure. I thank you all, with all my heart.
Showrunner Tim Minear has confirmed the character’s death is permanent but revealed that Bobby will continue to make appearances through the end of the season. “I will say that Episode 15 is not Peter Krause’s final appearance this season,” he told Variety in an interview published on Thursday.

Minear, 61, also revealed that the question of who will replace Bobby as the 118’s new captain is something he’s “not solving” during the remainder of season 8. “There is an interim captain there who is not going to be the captain going forward, but the last three episodes are not about who’s in Bobby’s chair,” he explained to TV Insider after Thursday’s episode. “The last three episodes are about [how] that chair is empty.”
9-1-1 returns on ABC Thursday, May 1, at 8 p.m. ET.
