Jimmy Butler’s Warriors postseason debut lived up to the hype and once again vindicated Golden State’s decision to trade for him in February. Butler and Stephen Curry combined for 75 points to lead the Warriors past the Grizzlies and into a playoff series with the Houston Rockets.
“We’ve got a hell of a Batman in Steph,” Butler told TNT after the game. “And we got a group of guys that have a lot of fight. They never give up. And we did what we were supposed to do, finally.”
On his favorite part of playing with the Warriors, Butler said it was “How together we are.”
“Everybody wants everybody to be great, and we play our roles to the T,” Butler said. “I think that’s the most important part of a championship-caliber team, and we have that.”
Butler also continued to gush about playing with Curry.
“It’s real,” Butler said. “That’s a Batman if I’ve ever seen a Batman. Always coming in to save the day. You’re never out of every game, and more than anything, you’re just so poised and just so calm. He was a huge part of us getting the victory.”
