During the UFC MMA match in Miami, Florida, Cheryl Hines was trending — in a so “Curb Your Enthusiasm” way.

After President Donald Trump entered the arena Saturday, April 12, at the Kaseya Center, he greeted fans and shook hands with several people — except the wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In a viral video on X, Hines extends her hand after Trump greets RFK Jr., then pouts as he walks past her, ignoring the handshake.

A Florida native, Hines is an actress and comedian best known for portraying Larry David’s wife Cheryl on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” (David is to co-creator of “Seinfeld” with Jerry Seinfeld.) Hines, who grew up in Tallahassee and graduated from the University of Central Florida, married Kennedy in August 2014. She credits her on-screen husband with introducing the pair, saying David introduced her to Kennedy in 2006 at a fundraiser.

Once political rivals, Trump picked her husband to lead the Department of Health and Human Services and encouraged the politician in his “Make America Healthy Again” campaign. Last month, Trump and Kennedy traveled to his private club, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

The UFC fight in Miami is the latest high-profile sporting event the president has attended in recent months. Others include Super Bowl LIX, the Daytona 500, NCAA wrestling championship finals and LIV Golf Tournament at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami. On April 11, the president arrived in Palm Beach for a ninth time (and his 10th visit to Florida) since his inauguration Jan. 20, 2025.

The “handshake snub,” as it was referred to on social media, had “Curb Your Enthusiasm” tones, X users wrote. Winning two Primetime Emmy nominations for the role, Hines also has starred in films like “Herbie: Fully Loaded” (2005), “Cake” (2005), “RV” (2006), and “A Bad Moms Christmas” (2017).

Users on X defended the so-called snub, saying Trump’s height kept him from seeing Hines’ handshake attempt, though many were quick to comment on the actress’ comical pout.

X users later posted a photo of Trump going back to greet Hines and shaking her hand, saying the president didn’t see her attempted handshake, and the moment he ignored it was accidental.
