Before the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final between the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx came to an end, ESPN jumped the gun with its postgame coverage.

Despite not having Caitlin Clark available, the Fever defeated the Lynx 74-59 on the road. Natasha Howard led the charge with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Sophie Cunningham played a huge role off the bench, scoring 13 points on 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
This was an impressive win for the Fever considering they were 10.5-point underdogs heading into this game. Their defense kept the Lynx to 34.9% shooting from the field.
Well before Tuesday night’s game ended, ESPN posted a video on YouTube that had this headline: “FULL REACTION: Lynx dominate Fever to win Commissioner’s Cup.”
Obviously, that’s not what happened. The Fever flexed their muscles and won the Commissioner’s Cup at Target Center.

Social media influencer Rachel DeMita shared a photo of ESPN’s misleading headline. She wrote, “What tf are you doing ESPN???? The fact that it’s still up is nasty work.”

That post from DeMita inspired others to criticize ESPN.
“ESPN is a joke,” one fan commented. “So, unprofessional.”
“As soon as the game ended I jumped onto youtube and checked the chat for the live and it was 90% people ridiculing ESPN. That made me happy,” a second fan wrote.
“ESPN should be embarrassed,” another fan added.
“As always, never beating the allegations. Elle, Chiney and the rest are generational haters,” a Fever fan said.
ESPN has not yet commented on this blunder. It’s possible their social media team had a draft ready to go and accidentally hit the live button.

Regardless of what went down, this is a rough look for the Worldwide Leader In Sports.
The Fever will return to action Thursday to take on the Las Vegas Aces.
