The Boston Celtics have a serious opportunity to crush the plans of their Eastern Conference rival in Milwaukee.
After the Bucks waived Damian Lillard, Boston is reportedly looking into signing the future Hall of Fame guard, per The Athletic.

Lillard would bring the Celtics another superstar to join Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, potentially pushing the Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo back into the pack in the East.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an immediate impact move. Lillard and Tatum both tore their Achilles in the playoffs.
But the statement of intent would be felt immediately.

And then in 2026-27, when everyone was conceptually fully healthy, the Celtics would be absolutely loaded.
The Celtics aren’t the only team who want Lillard, of course. The Lakers are interested. So are the Warriors. Other reports suggest the Trail Blazers could try to bring Dame back to Portland.

But Boston is definitely one of the most intriguing destinations. It’d give Lillard the chance to get some revenge on the Bucks while also rehabbing a tough injury alongside another all-time great in Tatum.
Definitely keep the Celtics in the sights here, because they’re very much in play.
