The biggest momentum shift of the game, however, came midway through the third quarter when guard Lexie Hull dove on a loose ball in the middle of the paint, secured possession and promptly kicked it out to Kelsey Mitchell in the corner.

Mitchell drained the 3‑pointer, and with it, the Fever stretched their lead to 19 points, a lead they would hold through the remainder of the game.

The sequence was later highlighted as the Rush Bowls Play of the Game by the team’s X account.

Hull, now in her fourth WNBA season, was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2022 draft out of Stanford.

As a Cardinal, Hull was a three‑time All‑Pac‑12 selection, twice named to the Pac‑12 All‑Defensive Team and helped lead the program to the 2021 NCAA national championship.

Since joining Indiana, she’s carved out a niche as a glue player, and this season has put up her best numbers yet, averaging 8.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 16 games (13 starts) leading up to Thursday’s contest.

Mitchell, on the other hand, entered the league as the No. 2 pick in the 2018 draft and earned All‑Rookie Team honors that year.

Now in her eighth season with the Fever, she’s a two‑time WNBA All‑Star and already remains second in franchise history in all-time career scoring, 3-pointers made and minutes played.

Indiana entered Thursday’s game riding high from its Commissioner’s Cup win, when the Fever upset the Minnesota Lynx 74‑59 to claim their first Cup title, a game in which Mitchell poured in 12 points, one rebound and three assists while Hull notched six points and two rebounds.
