Macy’s is known for being the brand behind two of the most iconic holiday shows in the U.S. annually: the Thanksgiving Day parade and the Fourth of July fireworks show. The latter is upon us, and 2025 marks the 49th iteration of the spectacle. Producers for the fireworks show are upping the ante this year with 11 new effects (think more jellyfish, sunbursts, and comet fans) with fireworks reaching as high as 1,000 feet in 30 different colors, launching more than 80,000 shells.
The Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks show is free and open to the public for anyone to attend. But if you can’t make it to New York City to see the fireworks live, you can easily watch them on TV or online.
How to Watch on TV and Online
Programming will start airing at 8 p.m eastern on Friday, July 4, live on NBC primetime. You can look up your local NBC affiliate for channel details.
The show will also be streamed live on Peacock. Subscriptions start at $7.99 per month, or $79.99 for the year.
An encore presentation will run on NBC at 10 p.m. immediately after the fireworks end, but the show should be on Peacock to stream for at least a couple days. (Peacock doesn’t always keep live events indefinitely, so plan accordingly.)
Telemundo will also air a telecast with Spanish language commentary at 9 p.m. eastern. You can look up your local Telemundo station here.
What to Expect
Hosted by Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, the show will include performances by Lenny Kravitz, the Jonas Brothers, Ava Max, Eric Church, Keke Palmer, and Trisha Yearwood.
The fireworks show itself should last approximately 25 minutes, and this year it will be launched above New York’s East River, near the Brooklyn Bridge. The show will feature a soundtrack produced by Questlove and James Poyser.
