Every announcement, release date in latest Nintendo Direct – ESPN

The Nintendo Direct presentation for March 2025 — and the final presentation dedicated to the original Nintendo Switch console — has now concluded, confirming a suite of titles still due to launch on the aging hardware.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct due to air on April 2, but even if you’re not planning to upgrade immediately, you’ll still have plenty of games to enjoy well into 2026.

Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends: Z-A are the highlights of the presentation, but there are dozens of smaller titles that will have dedicated fans, like Disney Villains Cursed Cafe or Rhythm Heaven: Groove. Here’s a breakdown of every announcement and release date.

Dragon Quest 1+2 HD-2D Remake, 2025

Dragon Quest 1 and 2 will be getting an HD remake. Nintendo

Dragon Quest 1+2 upgrades the visuals of the original two Dragon Quest games, and this release serves as the perfect accompaniment to 2024’s Dragon Quest III.

No Sleep for Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files, July 25

AI fans get a brand new release, where protagonist Kaname Date has a long list of puzzles and mysteries to unravel in order to save lives.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, June 19

Shadow Labyrinth, July 18

Shadow Labyrinth is a brand new metroidvania game featuring Pac-Man and mech robots. Pac-Man’s ability to devour enemies serves as a way to unlock new abilities.

Patapon + Patapon 2 Replay, July 11

A remaster of both classic Patapon titles, you’ll press buttons in these games to a rhythm in order to battle enemy armies with cute Patapon characters.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, August 27

A full remake of the Nintendo DS game known in the West as Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar gives the game a total visual overhaul with crisp 3D visuals and environments.

This isn’t a video game announcement, but Nintendo Switch digital games will soon become “Virtual Game Cards” and you will be able to loan them to people in your Nintendo Switch Family, although you won’t be able to play the game yourself during that time. You can also use this system to move your digital game licenses between multiple consoles you own easily, without needing a constant internet connection.

It’s available now, and will provide fans with daily news updates about the Nintendo Switch 2 after the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April.
