Pete Davidson and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt cannot wait to become parents.
A source close to the couple tells PEOPLE that the two are excited to welcome their first baby together after news broke on Wednesday, July 16, that Hewitt is pregnant. “They’re both very nurturing people and are very, very happy together and to be starting a family,” the insider tells PEOPLE.
“They’ve been sharing privately with loved ones, and it’s a really sweet time after everything Pete has overcome. He’s so excited. He’s always wanted to be a dad.”

A second source tells PEOPLE that Davidson has been “more intentional” about letting people into his life and is excited to start this next chapter with Hewitt.
“Pete and Elsie are happy and cannot wait to welcome their baby,” they say. “He’s grown up a lot, and he’s so excited about this next chapter as a dad.”
“He’s more intentional about who he lets into his life now, and with Elsie, it was never about headlines or the spotlight, and that’s exactly what he needs.”
On Wednesday, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Davidson and his girlfriend Hewitt are expecting their first baby together. TMZ was first to report the news.
A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the pair were dating in March after they were spotted together in Palm Beach, Florida. In photos of their beach date, the couple was seen swimming in the ocean and sharing a smooch in the water.
Two months later, a source exclusively told PEOPLE that the pair had taken their relationship to the next level and moved in together.

“Pete and Elsie have been living together in New York for the past few months,” the source said in May. “They’re splitting their time between Pete’s house in upstate New York and a brownstone they recently started renting in Brooklyn.”
“They’re so happy together and doing great,” the insider added.
The comedian opened up about his desire to start a family during an appearance on Kevin Hart’s talk show, Hart to Heart, back in 2022.
“My favorite thing ever, which I’m yet to achieve, is I wanna have a kid,” Davidson said, adding that becoming a dad is his “dream.”
“It’s super corny, but it would be so fun to dress up a little dude,” he continued. “I’m so excited for that chapter so that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is trying to be like good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens it’s just easier.”
