Scrutiny has fallen on Kristin Cabot, a human resources leader for a tech firm called Astronomer.
That’s because she’s accused of being the woman in a viral Coldplay concert video who was caught in an embrace with a man. Astronomer CEO Andy Byron is accused of being that man. Even Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin got into the act, helping send the video viral by singling out the couple’s apparent resistance to being seen on camera.
Men’s Journal has reached out to Astronomer to give Cabot and Byron a chance to comment. They haven’t responded to the accusations that they’re in the video. The video has generated intense commentary online. Newsweek reported that Byron is married to a woman named Megan Kerrigan Byron, who has since scrubbed her social media account.
However, although some on the internet have said she has a husband named Kenneth Thornby, it turns out that Cabot is divorced from him. On LinkedIn, she goes by the name of Kristin Cabot (Thornby). In a previous interview in 2021, she was referred to as Kristin Thornby. She is referred to on Astronomer’s website as Kristin Cabot, where she is listed as the company’s chief people officer.
Kristin Cabot was divorced from her ex-husband Kenneth Thornby in 2022, according to the New York Post, which cited court records in Massachusetts for the revelation.
“It’s unclear if she has since remarried, but the former couple has at least one child, as Thornby was made to pay child support,” reported the Post.
Thornby’s LinkedIn page is deleted.
Whether she has a new husband could not be immediately verified. It does not appear from public records that Cabot is her maiden name.
Kristin Cabot says on her LinkedIn page that she is an advisory board member for a company called Privateer Rum, of Ipswich, MA. The founder of that company is named Andrew Cabot. Privateer Rum did not return a request for comment. Andrew Cabot is descended from “a privateer named Andrew Cabot who, in the late 1700s, distilled rum from molasses he smuggled past British ships,” Edible Boston reports.
“Andrew Cabot, CEO/COO, six generations removed from the original Andrew Cabot who inspired the launch of Privateer Rum, is the driving force behind the company,” the company’s website says.
Cabot and Kenneth Thornby “filed for divorce in 2018 and the split was finalized in 2022,” the Post noted.
A former Astronomer employee told the New York Post, “The text groups and chains of former employees are like…everybody’s laughing their a** off and enjoying the h*** out of what happened and him getting exposed,” the source said.
