Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera have separated.

The Today meteorologist, who also serves as the co-anchor of the third hour, shared the news on July 18 on Instagram, writing, “For many years, I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between.”

“I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate,” she continued.

Dreyer, 43, and Fichera, 38, were married for 12 years and share three sons together: Calvin, 8, Oliver, 5, and Rusty, 3. The pair first met while working at the same local Boston news station before tying the knot in 2012.

Though Dreyer says she and Fichera have been separated for some time, she noted that they’re splitting amicably and are committed to coparenting their boys.

“We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another,” she wrote, before concluding her message by saying, “Thank you as always for your support.”

A source also tells PEOPLE: “Dylan and Brian remain best friends, and they are committed to coparenting and putting their three children first.”

The family spent the Fourth of July holiday together, with Dreyer posting pictures of their outing to the Macy’s fireworks special, which she hosts for NBC.

Fichera also joined Dreyer on her recent trip to the American century golf championships in Lake Tahoe, where he served as her caddy.

The two have always had a shared love of golf — Fichera even bought Dreyer her first set of clubs when they were newly dating.

“Golf is the thing we do together,” Dreyer previously told Today.com in 2023. “We have a couple of drinks, we laugh.”

When they met at NBC’s Boston affiliate station, WHDH, Dreyer was working there as a meteorologist and Fichera was an in-studio technician. Today, Fichera works for NBC News as a producer and freelance cameraman.
