Memphis is in control early, playing in front of their home crowd. Ja Morant just took things to another level, though, with this jaw-dropping putback jam. He’s got nine first-quarter points after the cleanup, and his team is leading Dallas 29-14.

Davion Mitchell nearly took down the Hawks in overtime by himself. The Baylor product came off the bench tonight, but closed the game on the court and showed everyone in attendance why. He sank two threes to open the extra period, before drawing a charge and forcing an Atlanta timeout.

In the final minute, he connected from long range again to push his team ahead by nine. For the second game in a row, the Heat win a road game in the Play-In tournament – meaning they went from finishing 10th in the regular season, to clinching the 8th and final playoff spot.

Mavs-Grizz Tipoff 🔜
Here are the starting lineups for the second of tonight’s do-or-die doubleheader. Ja Morant was a last second decision for Memphis, who’s dealing with an ankle injury. Dallas has a healthy frontcourt on the other hand, with Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II both ready to go.

Trae Does This 😤
Despite being guarded by the much bigger Andrew Wiggins, Trae Young still manages to slice inside, and finish through the contact to tie this one up with 1.6 seconds left in regulation.

ATL Has a Chance 🥵
With Atlanta in possession, down by one, they failed to take the lead following a missed floater from Georges Niang. Miami played impressive defense on Trae Young, forcing him to pass and not allowing the ball to come back to him. Tyler Herro missed a free throw on the other end however, setting up a potential game winning scenario for the Hawks – down by two with 11.3 seconds left in the game.
Our Herro 🦸♂️
Tyler Herro is giving his team the scoring they desperately need with the game on the line. He’s hit two consecutive jumpers to cap off a 7-0 Miami run, reclaiming the lead in the process. There’s only two minutes left with a playoff birth on the line in this one.
7-0 run, we’re up 99-98 with 3:01 left in the game.

1st Hawks Lead 🚨
The State Farm Arena is rocking in what could be their last time seeing the home team play. Trae Young is doing his best to ensure that’s not the case, however, sinking his second consecutive three and giving the Hawks their first lead of the night in the process.
We’re in for a stellar finish in the first of two must-win games tonight.

Atlanta has never held the lead tonight, but they’re knocking on Miami’s doorstep again due to some fourth quarter heroics from their All-Star point guard.

What a sequence to end the third quarter. The two teams combined for four consecutive threes. First Onyeka Okongwu sank his second for Atlanta. Kyle Anderson then answered on the other side, followed by a Niang three, just for Anderson to sink another to close the third quarter scoring.

Just like that, Atlanta as cut the deficit to three. Turning defense into offense has been a winning recipe for them tonight. They have seven steals as a team tonight.

Miami has four players in double digits at halftime, led by Bam Adebayo with 13 on 6-9 shooting. He’s been the most impactful player so far tonight, scoring with efficiency and causing havoc defensively. He’s already racked up three blocks and two steals tonight.

ATL Not Going Away 🎯
On Atlanta’s final possession of the half, Trae Young lulled the defense to sleep until just enough space appeared for Caris LeVert to drill the catch-and-shoot triple. It brought the lead back to nine, the same deficit Atlanta faced at the end of the first quarter.

Miami got going early in the second, extending their lead to double-digits within the first two minutes. They’ve shot the ball well from three in the first half, allowing them to keep Atlanta at bay. The Hawks have hung around, however, and prevented the deficit from getting out of hand.

Trae Young’s three from several feet beyond the line capped a 10-2 run by Atlanta, pulling his team within two at the time. The run was vital as the Hawks were against the ropes due to the hot Miami start.
Heat Land 1st Punch 🥊
The Heat have raced out to a 10-0 lead and have forced an Atlanta timeout in less than three minutes of gameplay. Miami defeated used a similar strategy against Chicago earlier this week. Miami outscored the Bulls 39-28 in the opening frame and never relinquished the lead.
Atlanta will need to answer quickly to prevent digging an insurmountable hole.

Win, or Go Home 🚪
The four teams in action tonight all have their backs against the wall. It’s the last chance to punch their ticket to the postseason. The Hawks and Grizzlies each lost Tuesday playing on the road. But as the higher seeds tonight, they have the advantage of hosting an elimination game.
The Heat and Mavericks have momentum on their side, however, after surviving one elimination game already. Both teams also won on the road Wednesday night, so they won’t be afraid when entering enemy territory tonight.
The teams that do win, will clinch matchups with the conference’s top team in round one.
