Following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, airlines like Air India and IndiGo are offering complimentary rescheduling and full refunds for affected travelers. Special flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai have been added, with cancellation and rescheduling fees waived. EaseMyTrip has also extended waivers, coordinating with airlines and local authorities to provide updates amidst increased demand.
In the wake of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, airlines and travel platforms have announced measures to support affected travelers. Air India, IndiGo, and EaseMyTrip are offering complimentary rescheduling and full refunds for cancellations on bookings made before April 22, applicable for travel until April 30.
Air India and IndiGo have added special flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai to assist passengers wishing to leave the region. Both airlines have waived cancellation and rescheduling fees for affected routes, ensuring flexibility for travelers during this difficult time.
“Fares on Air India flights from Srinagar to Mumbai and Delhi have been capped to ensure affordability. Any high fares shown on booking sites may be due to multi-stop routes or higher cabin classes, offering a mix of direct and indirect options. We remain committed to assisting all passengers during this time. We are also offering complimentary rescheduling and full refunds on cancellations to passengers with confirmed bookings till 30th April 2025 on these sectors. EaseMyTrip has extended similar waivers, with its founder Nishant Pitti emphasising the company’s commitment to minimising inconvenience for customers. The platform is coordinating closely with airlines and local authorities to provide regular updates.
“To ensure flexibility, we have extended free change and cancellation waivers for all bookings made on or before April 22, applicable for travel up to April 30. Additionally, we are coordinating closely with airlines and local authorities and will share regular updates. Your safety and convenience remain our top priorities,” posted Pitti on X.
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has requested airlines to increase flights to and from Srinagar, citing heightened demand following the attack. Tourists have been rushing to exit the region, leading to cancellations of flight tickets and tour packages.
