Disney has been betting in recent years on live-action adaptations of some of its most memorable feature films. It’s a way of reaching new generations with the link that is maintained with adults, who remember their childhood with these sequels. Some versions have already been released, such as ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘Mulan’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’
Next on the list is ‘Lilo & Stitch’, which will be in cinemas on May 23, 2024. Disney offered a preview of this very special installment of the adventures of the Hawaiian girl and the blue alien, a story in which the cartoons become flesh and blood characters

In the film, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, CGI will be the key to bringing the mischievous fictional character to life. Lilo, played by Hawaiian actress Maia Kealoha, who is making her film debut at just seven years old, always wanted to be accompanied. In the trailer, the little girl looks up at the sky and says: “I wish for a friend. A best friend”.
“When I found out I was going to be Lilo, I was speechless, I couldn’t believe it. I called my dad and said, ‘I did it, I did it! I’m Lilo!”, the young actress told People
Chris Sanders will return to voice Stitch
“Ohana means family. Family means we’ll always be together and never leave you,” is repeated in the preview, in reference to the original film. This is another of the film’s challenges: to unite both narratives so that they become a transversal story. What everyone can suspect is that Stitch has a few surprises in store, as in the trailer you can already see him crashing a golf cart or destroying a sandcastle
Lilo’s older sister and guardian, Nani, will be played by Sydney Agudong. Kaipo Dudoit, meanwhile, will play David, Nani’s close friend. Chris Sanders will voice Stitch as he did in the original film. The trailer’s soundtrack was composed of songs such as ‘Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride’ or ‘You’re the Devil in Disguise’, by Elvis Presley.
