Vizag bid an emotional farewell on Friday to JC Chandra Mouli, one of the 26 tourists tragically killed in the recent terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Mouli and another tourist, S Madhusudan, both from Andhra Pradesh, lost their lives in the April 22 assault.Friends, relatives, political leaders across party lines, and members of the public gathered to pay their final respects. The cremation took place around 1 pm near Convent Junction in Visakhapatnam, a relative, Nageshwar Rao, told PTI.In a poignant gesture, Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav helped carry Mouli’s body as part of the last rites. State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha also visited the family to offer condolences and paid floral tributes.“Chandra Mouli was always cheerful and deeply connected to society. His loss is deeply personal to many,” Anitha said in a statement to a regional news channel. She added that Mouli had been travelling with three families from Vizag and was killed in front of them during the attack.Condemning the act, Anitha said, “Terrorists are now targeting innocent civilians. They reportedly used a questionnaire to identify victims before carrying out this horrific act. Such brutality must be strongly condemned.”
