Newly traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf is engaged to Normani, the football star announced during a Steelers news conference to introduce himself Thursday afternoon.

He said to Normani, “Hold that rock up, baby,” during the news conference.

Metcalf told the media that he popped the question to Normani, former member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, in Houston while both their families were there for his sister’s spring break.

“And just thought about getting the whole family together, just, for a big kumbaya and you know joining our families, you know, with a ring,” he said with a big smile.

MTV said on Instagram, “Got all the dopamine I needed… ‘cause @NORMANI & @DK14 ARE ENGAGED”

The word play is perfect given that Normani debuted her first solo studio album “Dopamine” in 2024.

After the announcement that Metcalf would be traded to the Steelers, he left a heartwarming message to the Seattle Seahawks Thursday on Instagram.

“Thank you for taking a kid from Mississippi and making him feel at home in the Pacific Northwest,” he wrote in part. “From the city to the organization to the 12s — you’ve been more than just a fanbase. You’ve been family.”
