The Jacksonville Jaguars made a splash in the first draft of the Liam Coen and James Gladstone era. The team traded up to No. 2 overall to select Colorado‘s two-way player Travis Hunter in a “bold” move.

They continued to show off a bold strategy on Friday night, making two more trades during the third-round of the NFL Draft.

They sent the No. 70 pick, along with No. 182 and 2026 sixth-round pick to the Detroit Lions for 2025 No. 102, and two 2026 sixth-round picks. Then they traded picks Nos. 102 and 142 to the Houston Texans for Nos. 89 and 236.

The result was the team making back-to-back trades in the third round. They selected Tulane defensive back Caleb Ransaw at No. 88 and West Virginia offensive lineman Wyatt Milum at No. 89.

“It’s been very smooth. I gotta give credit to our internal group, who’s fielding a lot of calls and crunching a lot of numbers,” Gladstone said of the process behind the trades during his availability on Night 2 of the Draft.

What are Jaguars’ draft needs for Day 3?

The Jaguars crossed off two positions with one player on Thursday.

They selected Travis Hunter who will play wide receiver initially and defense later as he settles in to the NFL. They also added defensive back Caleb Ransaw and offensive lineman Wyatt Milum in the third round.
