Additional thunderstorms expected to pass through Cincinnati area Tuesday evening

Severe weather is in the cards for Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky on Tuesday, April 29, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy storms began passing over Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky around 1:30 p.m. Much of the area was placed under a severe thunderstorm warning by the weather service, which has now been downgraded to a watch in places through the evening hours.

A warning means that the storm is happening, imminent or likely to occur, as opposed to a watch, which means that the conditions are favorable for a storm and it’s possible one will occur.

The storm threat may return on the night of Wednesday, April 30 and linger through Friday, May 2. Showers are also in the forecast on Saturday, May 3. Sunday, May 4 is expected to be clear with a high in the low 70s.
