Michelle Agyemang and Chloe Kelly were the stars of the show again as they came on against Italy to send England to the final of UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
Once again, the Lionesses did it the hard way, 1-0 down from the 33rd minute courtesy of Barbara Bonansea and on the verge of elimination.
Sarina Wiegman waited until the 85th minute for Agyemang’s introduction this time, coming on in place of Leah Williamson.
Similarly to her role in England’s comeback win over Sweden in the quarter-final on Thursday, our young forward made an instant impact, putting herself about in the 18-yard box and giving Italy something different to think about.
They couldn’t handle it, as Agyemang smashed home England’s equaliser in the sixth minute of added time.
The late show continued in extra-time, as it was the 119th minute when Chloe Kelly, on as a 77th-minute substitute, stepped up to take a penalty won by Beth Mead, who had come on at half-time.
Kelly smashed the ball towards the bottom left but Laura Giuliani got down to make the save, only for Kelly to follow up on the rebound and send England through to another Euros final.
It was the latest goal scored in Women’s Euro history, in fact.
The final takes place at 5pm BST on Sunday with the Lionesses looking to retain the trophy. They’ll face either Spain or Germany, depending on the result of tonight’s semi-final.
Alessia Russo played another 85 minute before making way for Aggie Beever-Jones on Tuesday.
