DALLAS — Hundreds of travelers are waking up to cancelled flights Wednesday morning after thunderstorms prompted a groundstop at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, officials said.
As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, the skies were clear and airlines were working to get through a backlog caused by Tuesday’s ground stop.
A ground stop was issued at DFW Airport from 5:55 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A ground stop was also issued at Love Field from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., according to the FAA.
Travelers at DFW Airport described being stranded at the airport overnight. Airlines do not have to provide free accommodations for travelers when delays are due to weather.
