Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson play lovers in their new film, The Naked Gun, but could the two also be lovers in real life?
In the 2025 adaptation of the classic 1982 film series, which follows the comedic adventures of detective Frank Drebin (originally played by Leslie Nielsen), Neeson plays Drebin’s son, who finds himself in a new entanglement of detective shenanigans alongside femme fatale love interest Beth, played by Anderson.
The Baywatch alum and the Taken star, who are both currently single, first expressed admiration for each other last fall, while filming the action comedy.
“With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” Neeson, who was married to actor Natasha Richardson until her 2009 death, told People in October. “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”
Anderson, who shares her two sons with ex Tommy Lee, repaid the compliment by calling Neeson “the perfect gentleman.”
“He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him,” she said in the same interview.

Since the Naked Gun press tour kicked off this month, the pair’s on-screen chemistry has trickled off the screen, with their affection for one another on display at their many press tour events.
At the London premiere of the film on July 22, Anderson, who looked radiant in a custom Rodarte gown in royal purple, greeted Neeson on the carpet with a sweet kiss on the cheek.
While in Berlin for the German premiere of the movie days later, the two enjoyed a scenic canal boat ride where they put on their best imitations of Jack and Rose from Titanic, per a video Anderson posted on her Instagram.
Needless to say, it wasn’t long before romance rumors swirled online. But despite the speculation, the actors continue to play down relationship rumors.
Following Monday’s New York City premiere—where Anderson and Neeson were joined by their respectuve sons on the red carpet—the Naked Gun costars stopped by the Today show and appeared to be shocked when host Craig Melvin asked if the two were a couple.
“What? I don’t understand the question,” Anderson said.
“I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry—as two actors,” Neeson added, seemingly shutting down any speculation that the two are romantically involved, with Anderson nodding in agreement.
And while Anderson and Neeson played coy during the interview, the two weren’t totally innocent. The two played into the romance rumors by sharing a kiss ahead of their interview on the Today set and pretended to look shocked when the cameras turned to them. Melvin replayed the kissing clip during their chat as the actors laughed, with Neeson gesturing to the show host that he was stirring the pot.
Following the interview, Anderson took to Instagram to gush about the love she felt at the New York premiere.
Captioning a post featuring photos and clips of herself at Monday’s event with her sons, Dylan Jagger and Brandon Thomas Lee, as well as Neeson, Anderson wrote, “A beautiful evening at the NYC Naked Gun premiere… thank you to everyone who came out to laugh with us… love is in the air — @nakedgunmovie in theatres August 1st.”
All we know is that if these two aren’t really dating, at least their acting chemistry is top-notch.
