Ben Folds to play show in Portland, Maine, during upcoming solo tour

Singer-songwriter Ben Folds is making a stop in Maine for his upcoming solo tour this summer.The show will be held Tuesday, July 22, at the State Theatre in Portland.The Portland performance is one of several “Ben Folds and a Piano Tour” shows scheduled in New England.After Portland, Folds will play two shows in Massachusetts: in Rockport on July 23 and in Groton on July 26. The final show of the tour is set for July 27 in Cranston, Rhode Island.Folds rose to fame as the front man and pianist for Ben Folds Five, an alternative rock trio.In addition to the solo tour, Folds has also scheduled more than a dozen performances with orchestras this year.
