Benson Boone just wanted music fans to see what a beautiful thing it was for him to perform with Brian May.

On Friday, April 11, the “Slow It Down” singer made his Coachella debut and surprised attendees in Indio, Calif. by teaming up with the legendary Queen guitarist, 77, just seven months after he had a “minor stroke” that left him temporarily unable to move his left arm.

However, it seems like Boone, 22, expected a bit more enthusiasm for the surprise team-up and shared a cheeky TikTok clapback on Sunday, April 13.

In the clip, the “Beautiful Things” hitmaker can be seen wearing a navy Nike polo shirt and jeans as he pretends to sing Queen’s 1975 classic “Bohemian Rhapsody” into a banana.

Boone then puts his hand up to his ear as if he’s waiting for an audience to express their enthusiasm before crossing his arms against his chest, throwing the banana and leaving the video.

“Me trying to get the crowd at Coachella to understand what an absolute legend Brian May is and the cultural impact he has on music and THE WORLD,” he wrote over the clip.

Boone also captioned the visual, “Mystical Magical.”

During his Coachella set, Boone sported one of his signature glittery jumpsuits while he and May performed a dramatic rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Ahead of the show, May, who was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 as a member of Queen and is a recipient of a lifetime achievement Grammy Award, shared some behind-the-scenes photos with Boone on Instagram.

“Do we look happy ? !!! Gonna treasure this moment on the plane with @bensonboone – a truly golden 22 year old prodigy,” he captioned the post.

Added May: “I’m proud and happy to say we are now officially pals 💥💥💥💥 Bri.”

The rock legend appeared at the California music festival to accompany Boone on guitar after the rising pop star announced his upcoming sophomore album, American Heart, to the crowd.

The “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else” musician then premiered the LP’s Bruce Springsteen-inspired title track.

In a March interview with Rolling Stone, Boone revealed that his forthcoming album would be “very Bruce Springsteen, Americana, like a little more of a retro vibe.”

“It all started with me believing in the song ‘Beautiful Things.’ Now, I have a whole album just about ready to go — and I’ve never believed so much in a body of work,” he told the publication.

Boone’s sophomore album American Heart is due June 20.
