Bethesda Still Hasn’t Addressed Oblivion Remastered, But The Company Site Has

Elder Scrolls fans are waiting with bated breath for an official reveal (or the shadowdrop) for Oblivion Remastered, which was leaked recently in a series of images posted online. The game has been the focus of the rumour mill for a couple of weeks, but Bethesda Game Studios is yet to formally acknowledge that the game is coming.

However, eagle-eyed netizens have uncovered references to Oblivion Remastered on the Bethesda website, using Inspect Element to track down snippets of code.

Bethesda appears to be shaping up for the inevitable release of Oblivion Remastered, which should drop next week. It’s the most publicised shadowdrop ever, thanks to recent leaks.

For some reason, Bethesda Game Studios hasn’t yet addressed the existence of Oblivion Remastered, which seems strange. This game will arguably sell plenty of copies, especially as it’s coming to PlayStation 5. It seems weird that the marketing campaign is nulled, especially as Elder Scrolls 6 is likely years away from being released.

On Reddit, users were able to track down some references to Oblivion Remastered on the Bethesda.net site – the first that we’ve seen on the platform. Using the Wayback Machine, it has been determined that the references were introduced only in the last couple of days:

Per the discussions, these Google Tag references usually appear in the days before a launch. They’re used by websites to send data to applications like Google Ad Manager, which means the team at Bethesda Game Studios might be preparing a post-launch marketing campaign.

Oblivion Remastered is set to launch on Game Pass from day one, which effectively guarantees it’ll end up on the consoles and PCs of millions of gamers worldwide. Will you be one of them?

This is only a tiny tidbit of information, but it brings us one step closer to the Oblivion Remastered release date.
