Former Miami star quarterback Cam Ward is headed to the Music City after being drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ward is arriving in Nashville, Tennessee already a fan of at least one country music star in Morgan Wallen.
Ward revealed during his press conference Thursday night that he enjoys Wallen’s music.
“I’m a big Morgan Wallen guy,” Cam Ward said. “‘Last Night’ is probably my number one song by him. I like ‘Love Somebody.’ And the last one, I can’t remember what it was. I’ll have to go through my Spotify playlist.
“But Morgan Wallen, he cool.”
Morgan Wallen is one of the biggest names in music and has regularly produced hits since appearing on “The Voice,” which helped launch his career, back in 2014. He was named the Top Male Artist and Top Country Artist at last year’s Billboard Music Awards.
As for Cam Ward, he is coming to Tennessee to try and help turn the Titans franchise around after they finished with a 3-14 record in 2024.
Ward went from a high school recruit with no Power 4 offers to a Consensus All-American who was just selected No. 1 overall in the draft.
The Texas native started his college career at Incarnate Word, before transferring to Washington State for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He then spent the 2024 season at Miami, leading the Hurricanes to a 10-3 record this past season.
Ward is an incredibly confident player who can make all of the throws. Perhaps Morgan Wallen will come out to a Titans game to watch him play, or maybe even Ward will attend a Wallen concert.
The country music star is aware that he has a fan in Ward as he shared a video of Ward talking about him on his Instagram page Friday morning.
