The Rams aren’t waiting around this offseason. Los Angeles has officially signed six-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams to a two-year deal, bringing in one of the most accomplished receivers of his generation.
It’s a big move for a team that’s reportedly looking to trade former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp. While nothing is finalized on that front, the Rams clearly wanted to ensure Matthew Stafford has a top-tier target in 2025. And who better than Adams, who’s been among the NFL’s elite for nearly a decade?
Next Davante Adams! Explosive wide receiver draw a comparison to NFL star and wants to play for Green Bay
A new chapter for Adams
After spending the bulk of his career in Green Bay catching passes from Aaron Rodgers, Adams has bounced around the past few seasons. He spent two-plus years with the Raiders before a midseason trade to the Jets in 2024. Even with the movement, his production stayed strong-Adams put up 85 catches, 1,063 yards, and eight touchdowns last season, per Pro Football Reference.
At 32, Adams still has plenty left in the tank, and the Rams are betting he can help them get back into serious contention. Last season, Los Angeles finished 10-7 and earned a Wild Card spot but fell short of a deep playoff run. With Stafford nearing the twilight of his career, the Rams know their championship window is closing fast.
Adams’ arrival also signals a shift in the team’s offensive identity. Kupp has been the face of the receiving corps since 2017, but injuries and contract concerns have led the Rams to explore trade options. While Puka Nacua emerged as a rising star in 2024, adding Adams gives the Rams a dangerous veteran presence to complement their young talent.
How Adams fits in L.A.’s offense
Pairing Adams with Stafford feels like a natural fit. The Rams love an aggressive passing attack, and Adams has built his career on crisp route running, contested catches, and elite red-zone production. With Kyren Williams leading the ground game and Nacua coming off a breakout year, L.A.’s offense has the potential to be among the best in the NFC.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, multiple teams showed interest in Adams, but the Rams pushed hardest to get a deal done. That kind of urgency suggests L.A. sees him as a key piece in their Super Bowl aspirations.
Now, all eyes are on how this roster takes shape before the season starts. If Adams delivers the way he has throughout his career, the Rams may have just made the move that puts them back in the title race.
