The Sanders family isn’t too happy about Shedeur Sanders free-falling out of the first round Thursday during the 2025 NFL Draft.
When former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy ripped the Giants in a post on X that read, “No wonder the [Giants] DONT WIN SH….,” right around the time Big Blue traded up to draft Jaxson Dart over Sanders, Deion Sanders Jr., the son of the NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, re-shared the message on his own page.
Sanders Jr., who is Shedeur’s half-brother, also re-shared a tweet from Andrew Fillipponi of Pittsburgh’s 93.7 The Fan that quoted ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper, a noted fan of Colorado’s former quarterback.
“Mel Kiper Jr: ‘Shedeur Sanders will comeback to haunt these organizations that are passing him up,’” the tweet read.

Sanders, regarded as the most polarizing prospect of this year’s class, was linked to a bevy of quarterback-needy teams, including the Giants.
Big Blue, which scheduled a private workout with Shedeur last week, first took Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall.
There was buzz that the Saints (No. 9) and Steelers (No. 21) could select Shedeur, but both went in different directions.
Despite the disappointment, Shedeur is looking to stay positive entering Day 2, with the second and third rounds getting underway Friday.

“We all didn’t expect this, of course, but I feel like with God, anything possible, everything possible,” Sanders said in an Instagram video. “I don’t feel like this happened for no reason. All this is, is of course fuel to the fire. Under no circumstances — we all know this shouldn’t have happened — but we understand we on to bigger and better things.”

While his dreams weren’t fulfilled just yet, Sanders expects his name to be called soon.
“Tomorrow’s the day,” he said in the social media video. “We going to be happy regardless. Legendary.”

The Browns could potentially target Shedeur in the second round as they hold two picks, No. 33 and No. 36.
The latter selection was part of compensation from the Jaguars, who traded for Cleveland’s No. 2 slot to grab Shedeur’s former teammate, two-way star Travis Hunter.
