This comes one day after Max Muncy suffered a knee injury in Wednesday’s eventual walk-off win over the Chicago White Sox.

Muncy exited the game in the sixth inning after outfielder Michael A. Taylor slid into his knee attempting to steal third base. Muncy went down in immediate pain in a scary scene at Dodger Stadium.
A few innings later, the Dodgers announced that Muncy left the game with “left knee pain.” After the game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team was “optimistic” regarding the initial tests.
“A lot of the tests that they did right now, we feel optimistic,” Roberts said. “And I think that our hope is that it’s a sprain. So obviously, for the next few days, I’m sure he’ll probably be down, but the MRI (Thursday) will show more.”
As for Ruiz, the 26-year-old was acquired by the Dodgers early this season after being designated for assignment by the Athletics. Once a stolen base champion stealing 67 bases in 2023, Ruiz has struggled to hit at the MLB level, sporting a career OPS of .641.
Across 66 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Ruiz is slashing .292/.394/.458 with eight home runs, 37 RBIs, 38 stolen bases and an OPS of .852.
