The Dodgers first homestand of the season concludes on Wednesday night, finishing off a three-game series against the Braves at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
After a 7:10 p.m. start time in the first two games, getaway day starts at 5:38 p.m. PT, the latest the game could be scheduled per the collective bargaining agreement.
Blake Snell makes his second start of the season, after allowing two runs in five innings in a win over the Tigers last Thursday. The left-hander walked four and struck out two in the outing.
“The pitches that were missing out of the zone were close,” Snell said, “but they were still misses.”
Reynaldo López was originally set to start the series finale, but on Monday was placed on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation by Atlanta. Instead, right-hander Bryce Elder will start in his place.
The 25-year-old Elder has a 5.28 ERA in three starts against the Dodgers, including eight runs allowed and three home runs in 9⅓ innings in two starts at Dodger Stadium.
Wednesday’s series finale will be televised nationally by MLB Network for those outside of the local markets.
