The Oregon men’s basketball team have nothing left to do but sit and wait for Selection Sunday after falling 74-64 to No. 7-ranked Michigan State in the Big-10 quarterfinals Friday morning.

The Ducks stayed within reach most of the way, taking a brief 28-27 lead after a T.J. Bamba 3-pointer late in the first half.

Nate Bittle sank a short hook shot in the lane to keep the Ducks close, but Michigan State ended the first half on a seven-point run to take a 42-32 lead into the break.

Brandon Angel came up with a steal that led to a fastbreak layup by Bamba, and Keeshawn Barthelemy hit a triple to bring the Ducks within a single point early in the second half.

But the Ducks stayed frozen at 43 points for the next five minutes, as Michigan State put the game away with a 15-point run.

Bittle led the Ducks with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Oregon (24-9) waits to find out their NCAA tournament fate on Sunday afternoon. They are projected to be a top-six seed.

Michigan State (27-5) takes on Wisconsin in the Big-10 semifinals Saturday.
