Final Four odds: Expert picks to win women’s March Madness NCAA Tournament

The Final Four is here, with women’s March Madness taking over Tampa, Florida as four elite programs vie for the 2025 national title.

After battling through their regions in the bracket, four teams will arrive at Amalie Arena looking to go home with a trophy. SEC titans Texas and South Carolina will meet for the fourth time this season in what is expected to be an intense game between two of the best defenses in the country.

Next up, the top overall seed UCLA will face a UConn team that has started to take over as the tournament favorite for many prognosticators. Paige Bueckers has been on fire for the Huskies, but anyone overlooking Lauren Betts and the Bruins is making a mistake.

Texas vs. South Carolina picks and predictions

Greenville News: South Carolina 68, Texas 56

Lulu Kesin writes: “Staley’s squad hasn’t quite soared yet this tournament, a motivation to play more fluidly and be more productive on offense on the big stage.”

Arizona Republic: South Carolina 65, Texas 59

Jeremy Cluff writes: “South Carolina is a 4.5-point favorite in this game and owns a 2-1 advantage over Texas on the season (yes, this will be their fourth time playing this season). The Gamecocks have won 11 straight games. No matter what, the SEC will come out a winner in this game. We think South Carolina will be too much for the Longhorns late.”

ESPN: South Carolina is unanimous staff pick

Charlie Creme writes: “When Texas and South Carolina face off on Friday, there will be no surprises… When these squads met to decide the SEC tournament title the first week of March, the Gamecocks completely shut down Texas 64-45. This one should be closer, but give South Carolina the edge to advance to Sunday’s title game.”

UConn vs. UCLA picks and predictions

Des Moines Register: UConn 75, UCLA 70

Gus Martin writes: “The Huskies, led by superstar Paige Bueckers, enter as 7.5-point favorites, a fairly hefty line against the No. 1 overall seed. This matchup will likely come down to which team’s strength prevails – UConn’s frontcourt or the Bruins’ size with 6-foot-7 center Lauren Betts. UConn will likely move on, but UCLA has a good chance to cover the spread.”

Arizona Republic: UCLA 74, UConn 71

Jeremy Cluff writes: “The Huskies are an 8.5-point favorite in this Big East vs Big Ten game and are the favorites to win the national title, but the Bruins will not go down without a fight. In fact, we don’t think they will go down. UCLA’s only two losses this season both came against USC, and they also beat the Trojans and South Carolina this season. This team is legit and can beat UConn.”

ESPN: Staff votes 2-1 in UConn’s favor

Charlie Creme writes: “As good as Lauren Betts has been, Bueckers has been better. Bueckers has been historically good with her 25-plus-point games in UConn’s run to its 16th Final Four in 17 years (and her fourth). Her previous three trips produced no national championships. Bueckers’ great play combined with a sense of urgency in her final season will be enough for the Huskies to win a close one.”
