A fire severely damaged the main stage at Tomorrowland, a major electronic music festival scheduled to begin on Friday in Boom, Belgium, organizers said.
No one was injured in what the organizers described on Wednesday as a “serious incident and fire.” They did not identify the cause.
Tomorrowland attracts more than 400,000 people and some of the biggest names in electronic music every year to the town of Boom. The 2025 edition is scheduled to run over the next two weekends.
Attendees were expected to start arriving at the festival’s campground on Thursday, and that will open as planned, the organizers said, adding that they were focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend.
Performances on the main stage were scheduled to start on Friday. David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and Steve Aoki are among the artists scheduled to play at the festival over the two weekends.
Videos posted to social media on Wednesday showed flames and thick plumes of smoke rising from the festival grounds.
