EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The entire Tri-State will likely experience 2 rounds of severe weather Sunday. If sunshine breaks through by mid-morning, early afternoon, it will supercharge the atmosphere for an early round of severe thunderstorms between noon and 4pm. These individual storms will have the best chance of producing tornadoes and very large hail. Some of the tornadoes could be strong, EF-2+ and long-tracked. By late this afternoon and evening (4pm to midnight), we expect a line of storms to form and push into southern Illinois. The main threat with the line will be damaging wind gusts and hail. A few tornadoes may also be imbedded within the line. The line will sweep west-to east across the Tri-State sometime between 4pm to midnight. You should be prepared to shelter if warnings are issued for your location and have a communication plan with your family. Power outages and damage are possible.
