ATLANTA — Severe storms are moving across Atlanta on Sunday, leading to several flight delays at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for the city itself at about 1 p.m. It has expired at 1:45 p.m. and also impacted Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
With the strong storms moving over the airport, the FAA issued a ground stop at Hartsfield-Jackson, which expired at 2 p.m.
According to FlightAware, as of 3 p.m., the airport has seen 814 delays and 15 cancellations.
11Alive’s Grace King’s flight has been impacted. Her plane landed in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she was told to stay at the airport for a while.
A Tornado Watch has been in place since the morning for Atlanta and many surrounding counties until 7 p.m. this evening with the storms active in the region.
