Florida ready for Final Four stage, familiar foe in Auburn

Yahoo Sports’ Jason Fitz reports from San Antonio on the Gators’ approach into Saturday’s national semifinal against their SEC rivals and the pressure of performing on the sport’s biggest stage.

We’re the biggest stage in college basketball, the Final Four, and if anybody knows about being the biggest star on the biggest stage, this tournament, it’s Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr. Um, I definitely enjoy it, you know, uh, not many people get this opportunity, you know, play in this, you know, and go this far in the tournament, so I definitely enjoy it, and I think, uh, I’ve been able to do it because I got such a great team around me, you know, I think, um.

We got guys who kind of cover up each other’s flaws, you know, weaknesses, and we’re just a great team, so I think that’s how I’ve been able to do it.

After talking to Florida players, it’s also clear that they are excited to take on an SEC foe they know well, Auburn.

I mean honestly why not because as a defender you know you kinda get used to how guys move on the court so um but I wasn’t able to be on the court when we played in the first but everybody else was so um.

I think it’s, it’s a good thing that we played them before.

Um yeah, I don’t mind it for sure.

I mean, seeing a team like Auburn, we definitely seen him already and we know him pretty well, so it’s definitely good, uh, go against another team like Auburn, but we know it’s gonna be a great game.

I mean, that’s SEC, so you don’t really have any slack off on games like that.
