Florida vs. Houston score and live updates: March Madness men’s NCAA championship game predictions, time, latest

Kelvin Sampson has made sure his Houston Cougars team keeps things in perspective after their emotional comeback win over Duke in Saturday’s Final Four instant classic.

“All season long with this group, we focus on our next game,” Sampson said. “We haven’t given it the importance, maybe, that other staffs would do — I’m not gonna insult their intelligence, they know what’s at stake tonight. … My wish for them tonight is to play to their potential.”

On containing Florida superstar Walter Clayton Jr., Sampson said it would likely take multiple of Houston’s stellar defenders.

“I think we’re going to have to keep a fresh body on him, and hope by chasing him around, it doesn’t wear us down on offense,” he said. “At the end of the day, it’s like the other night with Cooper Flagg — we’re not going to stop Cooper Flagg and we’re not going to stop Walter Clayton Jr. So what we have to do is focus on us. … The goal tonight is play good — we play good, we always think we have a good chance.”
