Former Jackson State football quarterback Shedeur Sanders is falling in the 2025 NFL Draft again.
All 32 picks of the second round on April 25 have been made, and none of them were Sanders. Some mock drafts had Sanders as a potential top five pick in the April 24 first round.
Sanders, the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, played two seasons at Jackson State for Deion in 2021 and 2022. He then transferred to Colorado when Deion was hired as the Buffaloes coach.

Shedeur Sanders falling in 2025 NFL Draft
Sanders has still not been picked yet in the NFL draft.
Teams like the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints are viewed as landing spots for Sanders because of their needs for a quarterback.
The Browns had two picks at No. 33 and No. 36 but took linebacker Carson Schwesinger and running back Quinshon Judkins instead. The Raiders traded back from pick No. 37 and pick No. 48. The Saints chose Louisville QB Tyler Shough at pick No. 40.

A third quarterback has been taken before Sanders. It’s Louisville’s Tyler Shough at pick No. 40.
Las Vegas Raiders pass on Shedeur Sanders at picks No. 37, 48, 58
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said before the second round began that the Raiders were the team to watch for Sanders.
“If the Raiders, as you guys explained, do not take him, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if we see the next possibility in the third round with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Rapoport said.
Las Vegas traded back from picks No. 37 and 48 and then chose TCU wide receiver Jack Bech at pick No. 58.

Mel Kiper Jr.: New Orleans Saints passing on Shedeur Sanders is a big mistake
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has been riding high on Sanders since the beginning of Round 1. Kiper has had Sanders as the best player available since Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty went No. 6 to the Las Vegas Raiders. He stood by it before the start of Round 2.
“If the Saints don’t take Shedeur Sanders, to me, that’ll be one of the biggest NFL draft blunders of all time,” he said.
Donald Trump slammed NFL for passing on Shedeur Sanders
United States President Donald Trump even was unhappy with Sanders not getting selected in the first round.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” he wrote on Truth Social two hours before the start of Round 2. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart!
“Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”
