Former Portland Trail Blazer found guilty in rape trial

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Former Portland Trail Blazer Ben McLemore was found guilty of raping a woman at a party in Lake Oswego in 2021.

A jury found him guilty on one count of each of the following charges: first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and second-degree sexual abuse.

Lake Oswego police said a woman came to them reporting that McLemore sexually assaulted her in 2021, while he was playing with the Blazers. She reported that she was too intoxicated to consent.

McLemore denied the claims, saying in a statement, “I did not rape this woman. I am not sexually abusive. I have never pursued a sexual relationship when I understood the woman was not interested in me and acting willingly.”

His sentencing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. next Wednesday.
