How to unlock Chipotle’s Burrito Vault and win
To celebrate National Burrito Day on Thursday, April 3, Chipotle is bringing back its Burrito Vault, giving customers a chance to unlock a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) offer in the week leading up to the holiday.
Last year, over two million players competed for a BOGO entrée. “Our Burrito Vault drove unprecedented fan engagement, resulting in our highest digital transaction day ever,” said Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s Chief Brand Officer. “Now, we’re giving fans another shot to crack the code and win free burritos.”
From Monday, March 31, at 9 a.m. ET through Wednesday, April 2, at 11:59 p.m. ET, Chipotle will release 2,500 BOGO codes per hour to the first Chipotle Rewards members who successfully unlock the Burrito Vault by guessing the correct Chipotle order. Players get four attempts per hour and can win one BOGO code throughout the campaign.
This year brings two new twists. The first player to unlock the vault each hour will win free burritos for a year. Players who unlock the vault after all BOGO codes are claimed will receive 25 Chipotle Rewards points, while supplies last.

Are Chipotle’s bankruptcy rumors true?
Chipotle fans have more than just the Burrito Vault to talk about this week.
After Spanish media outlet Unión Rayo reported on the closure of Farmesa Fresh Eatery—a short-lived Chipotle spinoff tested in 2023—some readers mistakenly believed that Chipotle itself was shutting down.
The confusion arose because the report featured images of Chipotle’s logo, leading to unnecessary alarm.
Chipotle’s spokesperson addressed the bankruptcy rumors in a statement to Good Morning America, clarifying the confusion.
“The claim that Chipotle is closing restaurants is false…The misinformation came from an inaccurate online article that mistakenly linked Chipotle to a venture it tested in 2023. The story has since been corrected.”
Fans can rest assured—they can claim their free burrito this week and hopefully continue enjoying Chipotle for years to come.
