Germany vs. Italy: Lineups, team news, injuries, and more!

Match information:

Location: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany

Kickoff: 8:45 PM local time, 3:45 PM EST, 12:45 PM PST

Germany started off the UEFA Nations League Quarterfinals on the right track by beating Italy 2-1 in Milan, but the job is far from over as there is a return leg in Dortmund. Should Germany advance to the next round, they will face either Denmark or Portugal; the former has picked up a 1-0 win in Copenhagen with the second leg set in Lisbon.

Team news

It looks like everyone has escaped injuries despite the rough first leg, so we’ll go with something a bit different:

Oliver Baumann retains his place after a solid outing in the first leg. The defence in front of him should look like this, from left to right: David Raum, Nico Schlotterbeck, Antonio Rüdiger, and Joshua Kimmich who will look to build upon his MotM performance in Milan. Angelo Stiller was supposed to start the first match but for reasons unknown was benched in favor of Pascal Groß, who wasn’t particularly impressive. The former Bayern Munich man should partner Leon Goretzka in the pivot. For the attack, it’s time to channel the inner Julian Nagelsmann and go with an outrageous front four of Jamal Musiala, Deniz Undav, Leroy Sané, and Tim Kleindienst.
