Glen Powell stopped by the Today Show to promote his new line of condiments, and naturally they wasted no time asking him about his sister’s wedding. Which Sydney Sweeney happened to attend right after news broke that she and her fiancé had called off their wedding and split up.

When obliquely asked about everyone spiraling over Sydney showing up to the wedding (“the wedding caused a little bit of a stir, did that surprise you”), Glen looked somewhat awkward and joked “You know, timing is everything in this world.”

He added of his sister, Leslie, “She and Syd are obviously great friends. It was a hell of a wedding…you know the Powells know how to do it right so all the people that love her were there.”

Cool, gonna play this back a few times and read into it.

As a reminder, Glen’s mom randomly had a phone call with the Daily Mail about Glen and Sydney’s relationship status, and said “They’re definitely not together. It was just, like, she was there with her friend.” She went on to call the dating rumors “silly,” added that Sydney is “really close friends” with the entire family, and said there is “nothing going on behind closed doors.”

But then she was also asked if Glen and Sydney might date in the future, and had this to say: “That is none of my business. I just want what’s best for everybody. I just want somebody that loves him unconditionally and he loves unconditionally, and they take care of each other and live happily ever after.”
