HE DID TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION, WHICH PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE IS HANDLING. SHAPIRO SAYS PSP IS HIRING A THIRD PARTY TO HELP WITH THEIR ASSESSMENT. WE’RE HAVING A LOT OF CONVERSATIONS WITH PSP. AND THEY ARE DOING A NUMBER OF THINGS. NUMBER ONE, HAVING AN INDEPENDENT REVIEW OF ALL SECURITY MEASURES. NUMBER TWO, TAKING CONCRETE STEPS UP TO. IMPROVE OUR OUR SECURITY MEASURES. Josh Shapiro is having lunch on Thursday with firefighters to thank them for their response after the alleged arson attack at the Governor’s Residence.Shapiro, his wife Lori, and his kids were able to get out unharmed with the help of state troopers.The governor made his first public appearance Wednesday at the unveiling of a new Reese’s chocolate plant in Hershey.News 8 asked how Shapiro and his family are doing. He said they’re getting through it and that he’s trying to be a good parent as well as a good husband and a good governor. He did talk about the investigation, which Pennsylvania State Police is handling.Shapiro said PSP is hiring a third party to help with their assessment.”We’re having a lot of conversations with PSP, and they are doing a number of things,” the governor said.”Number one, having an independent review of all security measures. Number two, taking concrete steps to improve our security measures. And, I have confidence that they will both learn from this, make the changes that need to be made to keep my family and the Davis family safe, and that we’ll be stronger going forward.” Lunch will be served by celebrity chef Robert Irvine at noon at Harrisburg Fire Station 1 on Thursday.
