March Madness is finally coming to its conclusion, as the University of Florida and the University of Houston face off in the NCAA men’s basketball championship game.
The tournament began with 68 teams aiming to claim the national title, boiling down to two No. 1 seeds in the long-awaited final matchup Monday, April 7.
Florida and Houston beat Auburn University and Duke University, respectively, in the Final Four, and are ready to battle it out at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

What to know about Florida and Houston
The Florida Gators are vying for their first championship win since claiming back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007.
Should the Houston Cougars win Monday night, it would mark the team’s first-ever NCAA men’s basketball championship victory. Houston made it to the final round of the tournament in 1983 and 1984, but fell short of the title.
For Florida, Walter Clayton Jr. has been the NBA prospect to watch throughout the tournament, averaging 18.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game during the 2024-2025 season. The Gators’ additional top scorers include Alijah Martin and Will Richard.
L.J. Cryer has been leading Houston to the finals as the team’s top scorer during the 2024-2025 season, with an average of 15.6 points per game. The Cougars are also relying on additional top scorers Emanuel Sharp and Milos Uzan.
