TAMPA – Kaitlyn Chen ’24 and the Connecticut Huskies won the National Championship with an 82-59 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks. Chen registered two points and four assists in the contest. The Huskies won their 12th national title overall and first since 2015-16. Azzi Fudd was honored as the Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Tournament. She scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Chen started all 40 games for the Huskies and finished her season with 6.9 points, 3.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds. Her signature moment came in the Elite Eight against USC where she produced 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
Chen joins Princeton head coach Carla Berube as UConn National Champions as Berube was on the program’s first national title squad in 1995.
