Man United vs West Ham: Pre-season friendly — LIVE

Manchester United vs West Ham LIVE

Both Man United and West Ham play their second pre-season fixtures of the summer tonight as they kick off their Premier League Summer Series campaigns at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The Hammers made a winning start to the season in Switzerland last week, beating Grasshopper Club Zurich 3-1 behind closed doors thanks to goals from Andy Irving, Callum Marshall, and Lucas Paqueta.

United, though, are yet to score this summer. They faced Leeds in Stockholm last week, but the match ended in a goalless draw. There was a silver lining, though, as new signing Matheus Cunha made his debut. Bryan Mbeumo, who signed from Brentford last week, will likely follow his example today as he is expected to take his first steps in a United shirt. West Ham will likely get a look at a debutant of their own in Kyle Walker-Peters, who has signed on a free from Southampton.

The evening is a double-feature, too, with Everton and Bournemouth taking to the pitch ahead of United and West Ham. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis.

Just ten minutes till we get underway!

Former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is still happily plying his trade in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad.

This is Mohamadou Kanté, formerly of Paris FC, who joined West Ham in 2024.

The 20-year-old midfielder could make his senior Hammers debut today.

El Hadji Malick Diouf could make his West Ham debut today.

He has already made quite the impression on his West Ham teammates, particularly Nicklas Fullkrug…

Man United have explained why Bryan Mbeumo is not in the squad tonight.

A statement posted on the club website reads: “Our head coach has decided not to field new boy Bryan Mbeumo in the MetLife Stadium encounter.

“The buy from Brentford is being eased into life with the Reds, as he is earlier in his pre-season preparations than the rest of the squad and is not quite ready to play a match yet.”

Graham Potter said he is looking forward to this afternoon’s test.

He told West Ham’s in-house media channels: “It is always nice to play Manchester United. It is about playing football for us now, and we need to get some minutes in the legs, adapt to some things tactically, learn about each other, and continue the process of real learning and developing the team, which you don’t get when the season starts as much. Its an important phase of the season.”

Lest we forget, tonight’s event at MetLife Stadium is actually a double-header!

In the early fixture, Everton fall to Bournemouth 3-0.

Goals from Philip Billing, Dango Outtara, and Daniel Adu-Adjei tie that one up. David Moyes doesn’t look best pleased with the Toffees’ showing.

Let’s hope for more of the same goalmouth action in the United match!

For those of you who were staying up to catch a first look at Bryan Mbeumo in Man United colours, you can switch the kettle off. Ruben Amorim’s latest attacking signing isn’t in the matchday squad!

Subs: Heaton, Dalot, Fredricson, Leon, Maguire, Munro, Shaw, Casemiro, Collyer, Fletcher, Kone, Mount, Mantato, Obi, Williams
