This one is turning into a thriller.
We’ve been treated to a real back-and-forth final quarter, but Michigan has taken a six-point lead, with both teams combining to hit seven straight shots until Iowa State called a timeout.
Jordan Hobbs swished a three-pointer to take her point tally to 26, a new career high.
Score: Iowa State 69, Michigan 75
After taking it to the Crimson Tide in the opening exchanges, Robert Morris looked to be losing touch when Alabama had established a 10-point lead.
But the Colonials have started fighting back and are now just five points behind.
Momentum seems to be firmly behind the underdogs and the crowd is getting behind them.
Alabama’s Clifford Omoruyi, though, is keeping the Crimson Tide ahead with his 13 points.

The halftime interval clearly didn’t break Kentucky’s stride as it continued to get it going on offense.
The Wildcats’ lead is now up to 14 points as star guard Georgia Amoore continues to control the flow of the game.
The Flames will have to get hot, and quickly, if they are to make a second half comeback. A putback by Bella Smuda will help the cause.

It’s halftime between Baylor and Mississippi State and it’s a close one.
The teams have passed the lead back and forth and Baylor is up 37-32 at the half. Neither team has had a lead bigger than five points, and that is the advantage that the Bears take into halftime.
Josh Hubbard of Mississippi State has 14 points to lead all scorers, but Baylor’s balanced attack has them in front. The Bears are also leading on the glass, outrebounding the Bulldogs, and scoring more points in the paint.
Also hurting Mississippi State: the Bulldogs had eight turnovers in that first half.
Score: Baylor 37, Mississippi State 32
Iowa State looked as though it was about to open a commanding lead and put one foot into the third round, but a 6-0 run from Michigan – capped by a three-pointer from Olivia Olsen – brought the Wolverines back into the game.
But the Cyclones’ Emily Ryan made a tough jumper at the buzzer to extend the lead to three with everything to play for in the fourth quarter.

We’ve had six lead changes in this see-saw first half between Mississippi State and Baylor in the opening game of men’s action on Friday.
The Bulldogs retook the lead on an alley-oop from Josh Hubbard to a soaring Riley Kugel, giving Mississippi State a one-point lead at the under-four-minute media timeout.

A key stat to watch: Baylor has eight offensive rebounds and is topping Mississippi State on points in the paint. So much of their offense flows through Norchad Omier, who remains stuck on nine points, and they’ll need to keep that inside dominance going to keep with Hubbard and the pesky Bulldogs.
Score: Mississippi State 30, Baylor 29
Robert Morris was hoping to play spoiler and become Cinderella today, and they are really taking it to Alabama.
Despite the Crimson Tide running out to a relatively early 10-point lead, the Colonials fight back to cut the deficit to three off a Ryan Prather Jr. shot from beyond the arc.
But ‘Bama is showing why it’s the higher seeded team as it grinds down Robert Morris and pushes the lead back to eight behind a balanced offense with six Crimson Tide players scoring so far.
Still a good game as we hit the halfway point of the first quarter.
Score: Robert Morris 11, Alabama 19
The round of 64 game between the Kentucky Wildcats and Liberty Flames is back underway.
The Wildcats take a healthy lead into the second half thanks to Georgia Amoore’s 23 first half points.
Can the Flames extinguish Amoore following the break?
Score: Kentucky 44, Liberty 34
Are we looking at an upset here? Very possibly.
No. 11 Iowa State took the lead before halftime and kept it throughout a tight third quarter.
It’s more of the same in many ways, with Iowa State’s Audi Crooks now with 20 points and two assists.
No. 6 Michigan simply has no answers for her power at the moment and is facing elimination in the opening round.
Jordan Hobbs is keeping the Wolverines in touching distance, though, as they look to stage a comeback. A big 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter has Michigan within one.
Score: Iowa State 54, Michigan 50
Josh Hubbard isn’t even 6-feet tall, but he is a dominant presence.
The diminutive – by basketball standards – Mississippi State guard is leading all scorers with 12 points and is shooting 5-for-9 from the field. He averages around 20 a game and looks like he might blow past that today unless Baylor gets him figured out.

Luckily for the Bears, Hubbard’s teammates aren’t doing much to support him. Baylor has taken the lead once again as we get under eight minutes to go in the first half. Norchard Omier is leading the Bears with nine points as both teams’ stars are playing up to their potential.
Score: Baylor 23, Mississippi State 21
The first half of women’s basketball between Kentucky and Liberty saw nothing short of a masterclass from Kentucky guard Georgia Amoore.
Amoore has controlled her team’s offense and scored 23 first-half points while also dishing out three assists for her teammates.
The Aussie guard is shooting 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and looks unstoppable as things stand.
Liberty, however, will be buoyed by its ability to never let itself get too far behind. The Flames have been on the back foot for much of the first half but find themselves only 10 points down at the break.
Score: Kentucky 44, Liberty 34
No. 15 Robert Morris is hoping to stage what would be a major upset against No. 2 Alabama in the East side of the men’s NCAA bracket.
The game has just tipped off with the Crimson Tide overwhelming favorites to progress.

This one is being played at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, airing on truTV.
This seems like it’s going to be a back-and-forth affair, and we’ve already had a couple lead changes as we near the halfway mark of the first half.
Mississippi State’s Josh Hubbard is leading the way for all scorers with seven points, including a triple to put the Bulldogs back in the lead.
Both teams are pretty cold from deep right now, but this game could ignite if either the Bears or Bulldogs figure out their three-point shooting.
Score: Mississippi State 16, Baylor 14
Kentucky’s lead remains at nine as the game reaches the halfway point in the second quarter – but the Wildcats don’t look like slowing down.
It’s been all about Georgia Amoore so far and the Kentucky guard has been dominating on offense.
The shifty guard already has 20 points while shooting 8-for-12 from the field.
Despite Amoore’s scoring prowess, however, the Flames are doing well to stay within striking distance.
Score: Kentucky 32, Liberty 23
This game is suddenly all about Iowa State’s Audi Crooks.
The 20-year-old center is having it all her own way and has 14 points so far, which have pushed the Cyclones ahead going into the halftime break.
Michigan doesn’t seem to have the physicality to stop Crooks at the moment and has seen its lead slip away. Can they do anything different in the second half to change the tides?

All to play for in the early going between the Bears and Bulldogs in Raleigh, North Carolina, but Baylor is feeling good after taking the lead on a big 3-pointer.
Langston Love just stepped into a shot from behind the arc that put Baylor up 10-7 a little more than four minutes into the game. Baylor then forced a turnover from Mississippi State on the ensuing inbounds play after the Bulldogs couldn’t get the ball in cleanly.

Kentucky controlled the first quarter of basketball against Liberty, mainly due to the offensive guile of Georgia Amoore.
The Australian guard toyed with the Flames defense throughout the opening 10 minutes and already has 15 points to her name, shooting 6-for-9 from the field.
Can Liberty stop Amoore before it’s too late?
Score: Kentucky 23, Liberty 14
We are underway in the men’s tournament today with tipoff between No. 8 Mississippi State and No. 9 Baylor in the East Region.
Despite being a lower seed, Baylor is actually favored in the matchup between Big 12 and SEC teams.
The Bears are led by Norchad Omier, who leads the team in points per game with 15.9 and rebounds with 10.9 per game.
Josh Hubbard leads the Bulldogs, averaging 20 points per game.
The game is airing on CBS.
It is no surprise that Kentucky is leaning heavily on star guard Georgia Amoore and the Wildcat is delivering early on.
Amoore already has eight points and has assisted one of the other two Kentucky field goals.
Liberty will know it needs to stop Amoore from getting hot if it is to progress past this opening game, but the Flames haven’t been very successful to this point.

Audi Crooks has taken a bit of time to get going, but she’s firing on all cylinders now.
The star center scores back-to-back buckets to narrow Michigan’s lead to just one point – she now has nine points and one assist.
She’s simply unstoppable at times and the Wolverines will need to find a way to stop her if they want to stay ahead.
