Season 2 of Marvel Rivals will debut on April 11th, 2025.
The official synopsis of Season 2 is as follows:
“After the intense Eternal Night saga and defeat of Dracula, Emma Frost has prepared a lavish celebration, inviting everyone to don their best attire and venture to the Mutant haven of the Living Island Krakoa for the annual Hellfire Gala. But as we all know, heroes never truly get a peaceful vacation. The uninvited Ultron has crashed the party, and the attending heroes must spring into action to protect Krakoa’s greatest treasure from his grasp.”
Emma Frost Ultron
Two new playable heroes are debuting in Season 2. At launch, the icy Emma Frost is joining the roster, and the fear-inducing Ultron is set to join in the second half of the season. Emma Frost has been confirmed as a Vanguard character, though Ultron’s specific class isn’t yet known.
Two new maps will debut as part of Season 2, and the first map is HELLFIRE GALA: KRAKOA. This map is the epicenter of the Hellfire Gala celebrations, and is engulfed with colorful flora and never-ending fireworks lighting up the sky.
The following new features have been confirmed for Season 2:
- Weekly Missions
- Accompanying daily missions to assist players in unlocking rewards
- Adjustments to Team-Up Abilities
- Adding new ones, removing/tweaking existing Team-Ups
- Season Changes
- Beginning with Season 3 (not Season 2), the game will shift to a two-month format, with a new hero debuting each month.
- New Costumes
- Several new costumes will debut throughout Season 2 for many heroes on the roster
