The Dallas Mavericks are at serious risk of not having 8 available players for Friday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
An NBA team must have at least eight players available to play a game. However, a team typically has a roster of 15 players, with 13 players being active for each game, but that might not be the case with Dallas.
Kai Jones (quad), Olivier-Maxence Prosper (wrist), PJ Washington (ankle), Jaden Hardy (ankle), Anthony Davis (thigh), Kyrie Irving (knee), Daniel Gafford (knee), and Dereck Lively II (ankle) have all been ruled out for the game vs. Memphis.
The situation becomes even more dire if neither Caleb Martin (hip) nor Dante Exum (foot) can play, as that would leave the Mavs with only seven active players. Both Martin and Exum missed the last game, and Martin hasn’t played in two months.
The Mavericks can’t catch a break from injuries after trading Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers. On top of that, they have lost three assistant coaches: Marko Milic, Darrell Armstrong, and Alex Jensen.
Dallas currently finds itself in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 32-31 record.
